A Couple in Love – Katarzyna Sobczuk

One day, while watching a Korean drama, I bought a sculpture on OLX — two simplified wooden figures.
What drew me to it was the relationship between the object and its title. The seller — who turned out to be the artist as well — had called his piece “A Couple in Love”.

I’m borrowing that title for the whole ensemble:
a writing desk that was once meant to become the Monument to Writing a Book, now just a “scrap find from OLX”; a lamp in which, when switched on, Marcello Mastroianni turns into Nicholson; an exhibition catalogue opened to my work Homage to Mark Dion; and other paper characters and collected objects.
