Flag of Earth

2009

The flag was designed in 1972 by James Cadle, who – apart from being a farmer – devoted his time to propagating the idea of the planet as one unity, without countries, continents or organizations. The author of the flag shared his project in the public domain. Brzeżańska started to use it in 2009 within the framework of projects and exhibitions in which she dealt with the issue of Earth and Earthlings. The yellow fragment on a black background represents the Sun, the blue circle is the Earth, and the smaller white one is the Moon.
