Gilding is an old, master technique for covering the surfaces with precious metals. Thanks to its use, everyday objects gain value and thus become valuable. They are used on special occasions only. A silverware cutlery is ritually polished with salt or ash before a festive meal. The blackish coat that covers them with time appears only as a result of the contact with the user’s wet skin.
